Such Beautiful guitars! I was wondering about great lead players endorsing Rickenbackers.
Huge fan of the company, but can anyone out there fill me in on great players cutting classic solos on a Rickenbacker?
If not so many, why not?

This topic has been discussed before. If you do a search you will find it.
A QUICK list off the top of my head - George Harrison, Roger McGuinn, John Kay, John Fogerty, Mike Campbell, etc. etc. etc.

Joe Walsh on his 230GF. Paul Weller played some leads on his 330's. Me!

Not a great lead player, but he manages.

Dean,
What did Stevie Ray use RIC-wise? This is (cool) news to me...

Jack: Stevie Ray played an old Capri. Someone has a photo that they've posted in several other threads.

Don't tell anyone but I understand that guitar was the secret to his unique sound that nobody else seems to be able to precisely duplicate with a FFFFFFFender. Shhhhh! This has to be kept quite otherwise RIC will be inundated with orders and we will be left out in the cold.

Marty Willson-Piper (the Church, All About Eve, Noctorum), Paul Weller (Jam, solo), Hilton Valentine (the Animals), Johnny Marr (Smiths, The The, Pretenders, etc.), etc...
I solo on mine all the time.

Others have tried Rickenbacker from time to time as well.

Some on that list are suspect in my view but hey, maybe old Ed knows something that I don't.
