Definitely a Rickenbacker Truss Rod Cover.
"Stereo Sound"! Woo Hoo!
Electra made a well done Copy in the 70's. I wonder if that what it is. That or Ibanez.

Looks like plain acrylic TRC with paper logo underneath to me too! The paper is hanging out in all directions

It's a d**n Cimar. I've seen many of those in my time. How despicable that someone should try to pass a fake 4001 as the real thing and even call it a collector's piece in the process.

The colors, paint burst, and headstock "maple" were giveaways for me. I didn't even bother looking at the TRC or the jackplate.

Here's a hoot - Thus is the translation of the description I got from Babelfish:
Title: "Rickenbacker E - Bass, piece of collecting tank in stereo"
Description: "offer a beautiful bass on, part is end the 60 it years to have been manufactured, then times was said to me, I is no specialist.
the instrument let examine, the neck is absolutely straight and spoiled or the like, top sound in stereo, all automatic controllers functions to normal nothing wackelt or is loose those federations must evtl times be cleaned, the instrument the last years (decades) was not used.
to the optical can one was entitled from the pictures well infer, manifestations of wear is present, no splinterings or damage, it acts over colorabrasion in chrome ring is missing with the string tension adjusters, the chromium plating is to some does not place any longer newly, one sees to the instrument already on that it was played.
if no seriennummer found, guarantee a perfecte packing, is no problem, since the suit-case belong to-white however not whether this also is from more rickenbacker.
if ask emerge please ask, please however my missing expertise consider.
internationally bidders welcome"
