Tone cap value

ok...so not really a rickenbacker question, but what value cap should i have in my P bass (with SD quater pound pup)
Ricks are 0.47 yes? same with fenders?

Not necessarily. The current American Series and Standard (Mexico) both have a .05 cap standard, the American Vintage has a .1 (yep, that's high), my Custom Shop P has a .022. You can get parts diagrams for many models at

0.47 and 0.5 - clearly not much difference there

Remember that "0", it's .047 and .05.
No, there would be no noticeable difference between .047 and .05, but if your Fender bass had a .1 before, you'd definitely hear a difference (more highs) if you went to an .047. All depends on what the bass had originally and what you want.
