I downloaded this e-book today, but haven't read it yet, though it's just over a hundred pages. It is supposedly a comprehensive look at the making of Revolver, commemorating the albums 40th anniversary. I've never heard of the author.
The download is free! Best part about it. Whether there is any insightful information...

Ah, Revolver! Great Album, but then again, so are Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper's, Rubber Soul.
White Album, Let It Be and the rest ain't bad either.

I just skimmed through it, and already I've found one glaring error. He talks about recording the horns on "Good Day Sunshine", and of course they're aren't any. I think he meant "Got To Get You Into My Life".

I don't see much of anything there that hasn't been discussed before. Much ado about influences and personal background, but not very much about the actual making of the album. Doesn't really add anything to what we already know. Not to mention several factual errors.

The beauty of the Internet is that anyone can be an author. Reads more like a term paper, in my opinion.

Regarding "the horns" on "Good Day Sunshine":
Possibly the good blog/author was referring to "the horns" on Sir Paul's 4001 Ric bass???
Then of course, it makes sense.
(And possibly Pauly named his third post-Beatles era L.P. "Ram" after the same "Ric bass horns?"

I guess it's a good thing no one's celebrating the 40th of Yesterday and Today, eh?
