I've decided to vintage detail my 81' 330 FG which already has ambered nicely and has the smaller vintage type headstock and vintage tuners.

I've used Corel Draw to do a sketch on the guitar before I start the work. I tried to modify the high gains to Toaster tops, Vintage the knobs and draw on a Trapeze tailpiece...After playing the 360V64 this week through the AC 30 I've just got to have those toaster tops on the 330 - and really like the look of the knobs and tailpiece on the 360V64.
Pics to follow.

Once I get it converted I'll post a picture of the whole guitar.

I have done this with a '97 330/12. I converted everything bolt-on to vintage appearance, including the tuners. It really did look just great.

I've kind of done that with my '00 330/12. Put in toasters, gold guards, oven knobs. Still need a trapeze and tuners. I like to think of it as a 330/12v59 (which of course does not exist except in my mind).

PS - Bob, what all did you do to yours? I would like to compare notes.

Jason,
Wouldn't you need to get some conversion bushings from "Stew Mac" to put the Vintage type tuners on the 2000 330 because of the Schaller type tuner holes which I think are drilled to about 3/8". I don't own a 12 string so I'm not sure what kind of tuners are on yours.

My 1984 330 looks very similar to yours, except it has factory-installed modern-type Grovers. I think '84 was the only year Rick used those.

I recently replaced the HiGains with scatterwound toasters, and strung it with Thomastik Infeld flatwounds, and it sounds AMAZING.
