The few times I played through one I couldn't get a decent sound; they were too boxy sounding to me.

Ok, I passed on the 12". But I did pick up a Kickback 10". Excellent value in my opinion. 120 watts into a Hartke aluminum 10" speaker. It has a really cool "shape" knob, that sweeps the mid freq's. Built like a tank, and shipped to my door for $219.00.
I put the beer can there for scale. I needed a small amp for my bench, this is perfect.

Scott, have you ever tried any kind of Ric-O-Sound setup, with your Ampeg and an amp like this one? Just wondering.

My meager two cents says... I love Hartkes. But most people here know more than I.

Wasn't the Hartke Charly brought Saturday that same one Scott pictures? That little baby sounded good for a small practice-type amp. Didn't sound like an aluminium cone.

Its a great little practice amp. The amp section is very impressive. I love the "shape" control, kindof a parametric sweep of the the mid tones. 120 watts. Sounds great with my Ricks.
I wouldnt endorse it for gigging,,,but the 12 or 15, (same amp section), would be probably just fine.

Yes, that's the same one. I thought Jeffrey Scott had my 4004Cii plugged into my RIC RB120, but instead, he had it plugged into the Kickback 10". Very nice sound out of a little amp. If my GK MB200 ever goes kaput, I'll get a Kickback 10 or 12.

I own the Hartke kickback B600:

It is a great practice and rehearsal amp (or when accompanying acoustic instruments).

I agree that Joey's 4004Cii sounded excellent through that amp. The RIC amp was no slouch either.

The amp section is great. Id love to drop a JBL or EV in just to maximize the potential.

I was diggin' the sound of the RIC RB120 during the jams, especially when Gary's 4002 was plugged into it.

I wouldn't mind having a second one.
