Vintage sounding OD peddals

Im looking for a distortion pedal for playing bluesy stuff with my 325, i also play a stratocaster.
oops sorry i put OD peddal in the subject, i meant distortion.

I'll be interested to see what people recommend. I don't use one. I use the features of my amp to obtain my sound. I play blues too. I believe that we are in a minority here.

I have been using an Analogman-modded Ibanez TS-9 for a few years now. It's incredible. Everything from bluesy crunch to just a bit of a boost.
http://www.analogman.com - it's the Ibanez TS-9 Tubescreamer "Classic" mod.
I can't vouch for how it sounds in front of a solid-state amp, but it's wonderful with Class A tube amps.

Hmm ya ive been eyeing the ts-9. I own a fender hot rod deluxe tube amp.. so, ya i love playing blues, stevie ray vaughan is my main influence, howa bout you brian? (not to get off subject or anything..)

Josh, this pedal will nail SRV. Of course, a Strat with overwound pickups helps too. But the pedal is designed to be as close to the Tubescreamer he used as possible.

I know John I should really expand my horizons. I forgot Colin James who is a great local Vancouver blues guitarist and also a few friends from many years ago. Randy Bachman, Paul Dean and Bill Henderson.
Then there's Pete Townshend who made me realize that playing in a trio could be a lot of fun.
All on the list, have shaped and honed my ability to play the music that I love.

Josh, through the last decade I've used these pedals:
Danelectro Daddy-O (overdrive)
Mesa Boogie V-Twin (tube preamp, monster od/dist)
Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face (one trick pony -but cool)
Vox Cooltron Brit Boost (what can I say)
Tech 21 Double Drive (I thought this was God's box)
UNTIL
I recently picked up a Voodoo Labs SPARKLE DRIVE.
This, my friend, IS God's box. Technically, it's an overdrive based on the vintage tubescreamer -but it has a 'clean' knob which allows you to mix in as much unaltered clean signal straight from your guitar as you like. Used in tandem with my amp's footswitch and the double drive, I have all levels of dirt I could ever want. I highly recommend it (obviously
