In the near future there may be a quality replacement bridge for the 4000 series basses. I hope to get one in a month or so and will let you know if it is the real deal. It is supposed to be easy to adjust and will have the same profile and be a direct bolt-on replacement.

Who makes this bridge? What's the cost? Let's see a pic.

I'd be interested, I tried one of the allparts bridges and wasn't to happy with the results.

I don't have any details or pics and I can't say who is making it just yet as somebody in another post brought up legal issues with making replacement parts. If John Hall can pipe in as to the legality of an aftermarket company producing a replacement part for his instruments then perhaps I can give out more details. I have other components from this company on some of my other basses and I can guaranty the quality is top notch. I can say that the company is American and their products are very popular as replacements and as OEM on various makers instruments. Please be patient.
The pupose of this post is to find out the viability of this type of product; how many of you would actually purchase a good replacement bridge for their 4001-4003 basses? This is just a guess on my part but maybe if this did sell like hotcakes perhaps the company would also make bridges for the 5 and 8 string models as well.
