I want to find a vintage VIB-ROLA vibrato as the ad states. It is for a 1959 Capri prototype that currently has a trapeze tailpiece.

If I can't get one I will consider a reproduction one like are available on the 325 C58 currently.

Can anyone assist with one or info on where to find one?

Thanks,
Russ

They are hard to find- I've never seen a complete one for sale in the decade I've been paying attention.

What features does the '59 have that indicate it's a prototype?

I will use a repro Kaufman then.

Come on folks! Surely one of you 325 C58 owners swapped out your Kaufman Vibrato for a Bigsby by now. Let's have it!!!!!

My Capri, as it happens, turns out to be a 1958 prototype. It is a rare double bound OS and it is begging to be re-united with a proper Kaufman Vibrato.

Patience Anthony....patience. This will be something special. I have found an original vintage vibrato and the guitar is now only a couple short months away from making its American debut...after almost half a century in exile overseas.

Russell--curious--did you have to "undo" any damage from other tailpieces like a Bigsby?

Thankfully, no. The original Kaufman was removed and replaced by a trapeze TP many years ago by the original owner. Now a vintage one is going back on it and she is whole once again.

1958........as limited as any Capri is and the fact that nothing was standardized until the early 60's.......they are all essentially RIC prototypes IMO....especially a '58 360 Deluxe!

Russell: Does it have 4 knobs, or 2 knobs and two toggle switches?
