Does anyone know if a Stratocaster 5 way switch will fit in the control cavity of the 350 without additional routing?

I don't know but the 350SH that Susanna Hoffs was playing last night had one. The switch was oriented vertically as you play the guitar.

Ask Susanna, I'm sure she could give you the answer!
Good luck.

Barry, have you considered a 5-way rotary switch?

That would be a cool idea as then you could use a vintage knob on it.

You could go to their official website and post in the appropriate section. I'm a member but have my password at home. If I remember I'll post a question or two about the 5 way switch and how it was done.

Pickguardian has a RIC 5-way switching project on their website. Doesn't give any pricing info, but sure looks like a great thing to have.

Thanks for your comments.
RCB, I hadn't but it is a great idea and I will look into it.
Nab, I think that answers my question!
Since the PG switch is slanted and Susanna's is vertical that would explain the extra routing Route66 spoke of (in an old thread), that said I haven't looked under the pickguard yet!!

On second thought maybe I didn't join The Bangles forums. I think it was only the fan club now that I've checked my records...

The 5-way 350 project was done for Rick Fass. He said to pass along his email to anyone that had a question. His email is:
[email protected]. My personal favorite rewire on a 3-pickup model is to wire the blend knob as a middle pickup volume control.

I have a slanted 5 way selector in my 350. Its the older 24 fret version. I did not route for the switch. So even though all the screws are tight on the pickguard, the pickguard is not entirely flush to the body. The guard is raised up about a 1/8 of an inch in one spot. You can't really tell. I thought about getting grommets and raising the pickguard evenly ...

John, thank you for that information, you have given me yet more food for thought!
I was thinking about getting another pickguard (which is 1/8" thick) enlarging the pot and switch holes and putting it under the original pickguard. It might look a bit funky, but at least you won't get dust in the cavity!
This isn't as easy as I thought it would be... that 5 way rotary is looking good at the moment.
