How cool is this!? Not only does the CEO of RIC know how to throw a great RIC 75th anniversary shindig, but he himself demonstrates live, that Rickenbacker makes the best bass guitars...and he played the Shadow bass very well:
Check out the cool expression on his face and the sheriff's badge:
He also handled background vocals:
John Hall rocks!! Very cool, we all had a great time, thanks JH!

Hey Joey - any idea if that was the Shadow from the factory museum? A couple of RIC folks said that was a great bass.
And by the way.... John Hall rocks!

There was a post quite a while ago dealing with Johns studio. I seem to remember a Shadow was one of the instruments lying around.
Personal favorite perhaps ?

Steve, I thought that it might have been the Shadow from the factory museum. I'm sure it is a great bass, it sure sounded great!

Two nights at the Doubletree hotel...$198.00
Tickets to the RIC 75th at the Houes of Blues...$150.00
Seeing John Hall himself holding down the bottom end for Hautwerk....PRICELESS!!!

I don't post much here anymore, and have not for a long while but, and don't mean to be a lurker.. So I feel I should chime-in and say Thank You! --To Rickenbacker and everyone who took the time and posted pictures at this site of the event, and for the "play by play" on everything. Looks like the celebration was a real fun time and wish I would have had the time off(I had a gig to play) and the cash to burn to be there.

Landon, you need not apologize for 'lurking', and I'm glad that you enjoyed the pictures we have posted so far. Because many of us who attended are just getting back to a 'normal' schedule, please be sure to check the threads for new pictures as we get them downloaded from our cameras, resized, and posted.

Thanks, I am a recovering lurkaholic. I may fall off the bandwagon from time to time, but I'm a harmless funny lurk.

Well, like I (and Peter) would say, lurk before you leap.
