325c58 Tone Knobs - Does Everyone Know This?

Hey gang - does everyone here know that Ric guitars from the 1950s had their tone knobs wired "backwards" (wide open is counter-clockwise rather than clockwise), and that the current 325c58, being wired to spec, is no exception?

I had a friend years ago who couldn't get a decent tone out of her '50s Combo 400 for anything, until she realized that the tone knob was "turned off." So when this series came out, this was something I looked out for.

I've seen a couple of posts here about the c58's sounding "bass-ey" and wanted to tip off those who may not have known about this.

Turn the tone knobs counter-clockwise, and play "All My Loving." Your jaw will drop.

Have fun!

Another 325c58 tip: If you don't want to remove or replace the Kauffman tailpiece, but are having issues with it (see other current posts), the vibrato arm is removable, which improves pitch stability, etc.

Thank you and enjoy!
