Here's a link to a video of Deep Purple performing "Lazy" in 1972. Bassist Roger Glover is playing a 4001.

What a shame! Almost all of the Deep Purple videos on Youtube were removed. Deep Purple is a highly underrated and overlooked band. They rock.

It's a shame that Ritchie Blackmore and Ian Gillian never got along in that band, but boy, did they try (several times).

Deep Purple does rock. I grew up listening to them. Deep Purple is probably my dad's favorite band. I especial like there early stuff, like "Fault Line"

Awesome!! When my uncle learned I started playing bass in 1989 he gave me 3 albums, Deep Purple/Machine Head, Grand Funk Railroad/Grand Funk Live double LP, and Black Sabbath/Heaven and Hell. He told me if I could play them front to back, then I could play bass. I didn't come out of my bedroom until I could.

All three great albums. I'm especially partial to Grand Funk Live.

All three not only had great bassists, but had great rhythm sections in general.
