Lennon and Zappa

This is new to me, I apologize if you guys have seen it before--it appears Yoko was mostly edited out of the track that made on the album. My inner guitar geek can't wonder about the SG John is playing, he seemed pretty firmly in the Les Paul Special phase at this point.

This is pure speculation, but could John's SG be one of Zappa's?

I thought that too, actually, since Lennon looks a bit unfamiliar with the guitar, as it is given to him when he comes on stage--most performers generally keep their instruments with them before a show. All in all, it's just an interesting clip to look at, and I didn't even realize video existed of the performance.

I am pretty sure that is one of Frank's SG's.

Wow, they were able to edit Yoko out?

That the best thing you can do to any of John's music that has her singing in it.

It's such a good song, but think how much greater "Happy X-mas" would be if you replaced Yoko's voice with say.... someone who could sing.

For a second I thought they did it. they holy grail. Yoko edited out of this kick arse JL performance. She was noticeably lower in the beginning than any other copy i've heard, but alas...they couldn't keep that down for too long.

Ah Laddie, 'tis a darn shame when that Yoko Ono woman appears on anything of our John! Image
