Accent arm's sharp tip

All, just received my first RIC with an Accent tailpiece. The tip of the arm is downright sharp, and if I'm not careful I'll be drawing blood with it (came close a few times already). Short of removing the arm (which I'd rather not do) what have others done about this?

They sell little rubber tips, I don't know who has them. Maybe someone will chime in.

Home Depot--they sell vinyl and rubber tips for various diameters of tubing.

Lowe's would probably also carry them.

Ah, yes the dreaded Accent Vibrola leg puncture syndrome! I removed the arm on my 1996 as soon as I got it earlier this week. I usually use a toggle switch tip to put over the ends of those sharp little suckers. Until I get one, the arm stays off.

I like to keep my 325v63 on a stand. When my two kids were small, I was afraid for their safety. The only one who got punctured was me.

Thanks to all for the leads. Will go hunting in the hardware stores. I'd hate to remove it, adds a nice touch to the guitar's looks, and while I don't live by vibrato, it's nice to have.

That arm is a product liability lawyer's dream! I can't believe it was ever produced in the first place.

That arm was first designed when this country was in a different, less litigious frame of mind.

Personally I like the design of the Accent vibrato arm--I sometimes wrap my pinky or ring finger around the sightly hooked end of it while I'm finger picking a song, and am able to use it for a nice, subtle effect.... but I can see how it would be downright dangerous if you were wildly strumming with that sharp arm in the path of your hand, LOL!
I seem to remember reading something about Pete Townshend removing the Accent arm from his guitar after impaling his hand on it...Maybe that's what started him on smashing Rics?

Pete impaled himself on a Fender, Melissa. You are right however in that he did replace the Accent arms with R tailpiece(s).
