Peter, on behalf of all the RickResource Forum members who attended at 75th Anniversary celebrations and the SoCal confluence, we'd like to thank you for bringing us all together.

As we've seen from a number of posts during and after the event, many people considered that time we spent together as one of the most memorable moments of their lives.

Your presence in Santa Ana was sorely missed and we hope that the package you have just received is some small consolation for not being there with us.

Enjoy.....and thanks mate! Image Image Image

Ooops, sorry guys, I'm currently staying with Dave Pascoe and accidently logged in as Dave. The above post was supposed to be under my ID. Image

STOP PRESS: We seem to have a glitch in the system here. These postings are actually being made by me, Darren "Jerry" Trott, and not Dave Pascoe. I'm a much nicer guy than Dave and he'd never write something like this. Image

And we have even started drinking yet!!

Darren, Jason and All:

I was absolutely thrilled to receive your UPS surprise package just before lunch-time yesterday, September 7, 2006. This weighty and compact parcel had an unfamiliar shape so I had no idea what I was about to receive. This after having 10 days to ponder just what it might be. I was none the wiser, however, as I inspected the package before me.

I opened the parcel and I could see the handle and top edge of a compact classic silver vintage case and of course, "Rickenbacker" on the label. I was able to hold my emotions together very well until I slipped the surprise out of the shipping box. On the cover of the case, the signatures of many fourmites became apparent. As I read the names, I began to flashback to their usernames as they appear on posts. A tearful and so special moment it was looking over all of the signatures. I opened the latches and only then did I realize that it was a RIC guitar display case. How cool is this? It is a moment that I have reflected back to on so many occasions this past 24 hours, a gift that I will always cherish and a story I will thrill in telling whenever I think of Rickenbacker, the Forum and the 75th Anniversary. Thank you so much for the thought, and I deeply appreciate the obvious involvement from RIC as well. The signatures of John and Cindalee Hall did not go unnoticed.

But I have only scratched the surface (sorry Paul) there was so much more in the case. It was almost overwhelming, as the case was filled with Rickenacker goodies. There were Rickenbacker guitar straps of each colour, the famous RIC polish cloths, bass and guitar Rickenbacker tee-shirts, RIC bumper stickers, and RIC 12 string guitar and bass guitar string sets. This was a sight to behold and as my senses drank up all before me I became oblivious to other events. This event stopped time, but as I came out of my euphoric moment my first thought was "You people are quite the case!"

This gift means so very much to me and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Your signatures will be forever a part of my memory. Nothing could have been more thoughtful than this and to have a RIC souvenir such as this to remember you all and this Anniversary too is so very special. I have the case set up in my music room and it is so very convenient to have three of my Rickenbackers on display and at the ready.

Thank you one and all. I am deeply touched by this gesture. No I am not a speed typist but wrote this reply earlier today in anticipation of the photograph that Darren has just posted on behalf of the group.

Peter, enjoy! Now every time you restring, wipe down your guitars, strap on your guitars, put on a tee shirt, you will have to think of us. Sort of like a curse, if you think about it, lol. Cheers!

Peter, your forum was the reason we were all there. Everyone was commenting on how they wished you could've made it - you were certainly there in spirit, i'm sure. I took great pride in signing the case.

Amen, amen. It was a pleasure to take part in this whole 75th thing, and it never would have happened to me, had it not been for this Forum coming into my life when it did, and for your generosity and that of John Hall.

There's another gift on its way, too, but I've got to get it sent off...

Peter, we only wish you could have been there. The world gets smaller every time we have one of these get-togethers, and whether you're physically there or not, you're THERE my friend. Enjoy.

Peter, you were missed greatly and always in our thoughts during that wonderful time that is now permanently etched on the inside of my thick skull.

You are the reason we are all here.... you are the special one who has so selflessly provided this magnificent vehicle that has enabled us to ultimately make new, lifelong friendships and further extend our love for 'All Things Rickenbacker' and the great people who share the unique feeling.

Enjoy the gifts..... it was absolutely our pleasure! Image

Geeez! I made myself a little teary-eyed here...

What a lovely gesture guys, you are to be commended!!

I've only had a couple of personal emails from Peter regarding questions I'd be too embarrassed to ask on the Forum. He has always replied with a concise and informative answer and shows his obvious love for all things Ric.

So it's not surprising that those who know Peter well, hold him in such high regard and felt the need to do something nice for this man.

It's nice to be appreciated eh Peter - and to the members of the 75th involved in this, well done! Image

Peter, I'm very happy we could do this for you. With no exaggeration, I can say it was the best weekend of my life. It, like this forum, is all because of you. So... you know what you have to do, don't you?

Post some pics!!! Let's see what a real Rick music room looks like! Cheers, Peter, and much Ric-o-love from all of us.

Peter,
Ditto everything above in spades!!! The 75th was the weekend of a lifetime and a significant part of it was what you have done to get us all together. Your hard work and wisdom set the stage to allow this forum to be what it is. Many thanks.

Peter my friend, I'm just going to echo what Howard, LeftyBass, & JWilli said as I couldn't have expressed any better. Enjoy the goodies.
