Looking for a list or link of some 12 string electric guitar songs from the 60's and early 70's.
Sorry about the multiple posts.

If I Needed Someone
Mr. Tambourine Man
That Thing You Do

There are three of my favorites. OK, so the third one is from the mid '90s, but it sounds like it could have been written 45 years ago.

Mr. Soul by The Buffalo Springfield has a really great backwards twelve-string.

I just happened to think of this one last week and it sounds pretty cool on the 360/12. Simon and Garfunkel's "A Hazy Shade Of Winter".

Here's a weird idea...How about that Johnny Rivers hit "Secret Agent" on a RIC 12 string? I think the original was recorded on a Fender. I just love that opening riff.

When was Stairway To Heaven recorded?

All that on a Ric 12 would be a beautiful thing

Stairway was recorded in '71 I believe, on a Fender XII.

I thought it was recorded on the 12 side of one of those funky Gibson double-neck jobbers.

I think Page used a fender 12 in studio, the 6/12 onstage only.

"Outside Chance" by the Turtles is a nice example- sure sounds like a Rickenbacker to me.

It was written by Warren Zevon when he was just a lad.

"california girls", "dance, dance, dance", "the little girl I once knew" are awesome 12 string songs.

"girl don't tell me" and "you're so good to me" would sound awesome on a 12 too.

Written by Brian, Carl, and Mike when they were just lads...

The 12-string hook on "Dance, Dance, Dance" was played by Glen Campbell, for those who don't know. And wasn't it a surprise when, at RIC75, Billy Hinsche revealed that the opening notes of "California Girls" were played on a Rick 12! I'd always thought of it as a processed analog keyboard of some kind, since they did use a Rhodes and a Fender Piano Celeste on stage.

Yeah! I was surprised too but then a lot of sounds on Pet Sounds made more sense too, I just don't think of guitars right away when I think of the beach boys.

When I saw Brian Wilson a few weeks ago, "wouldn't it be nice" and "sloop john b" both had 2 12 strings!

An interesting thing, sometimes up to 5 people would be playing tamborines!
