Great Duets

For me some of the best duets of the last forty or so years have been by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

Their version of Ain't No Mountain High Enough is so exciting. There's that bit at 1.38 where Tammi comes in and it never fails to send the shivers up my spine.

Your Precious Love has to be the all time sexiest duet.

Anyone have any views? Agree? Other duets that really do it for you?

Good topic and whilst out of the scope of this forum to some degree, having been released, in the 70's, I have always liked Take Me In Your Arms by Detta Little and Nelson Pigford featured in the first Rocky Film.

Never heard of them before or after.

Never a big fan of most of the Motown stuff I admit, but they were the one label who did tend to put acts from their stable together so to speak.

Roy, sorry mate but 'Ain't No Mountain' was released two weeks after my sixteenth birthday in 1967.

What interests me about duets is when they are right they manage to inject the music with an extra special something.

Anything The Everly Brothers ever did was a great duet. They pretty much set the standard which no one has ever touched IMHO, especially their early stuff, sounded like two birds singing. Check out "Devoted To you" - Cadence records.
Motown had a hell of a bass player though Roy.

How about that album Kenny Rogers did with Salvador Dali?

Well, that would explain Kenny's appearance!
