... I also just had a professional clean out the electronics of the guitar ... there was a neck repair but when I asked the guy cleaning the bass up about the repair, he said that almost all Rickenbackers have had a neck repair ...

Nice. We will be seeing that one again pretty soon - hopefully with a sane opening bid.

And better pictures - the ones in the ad don't really make the color look special at all.

Second time listed, not a single bid the first time around.

Funny, looks like TWO high priced RICS that were SOLD are now re-listed....Makes you wonder....and NO negative feedbacks posted either???

Of the 17 or so Rickenbacker basses I have owned, only one had had a neck repair (Ted bought that one - hey Ted, whatever happened with that one?), so "most" is patently false with regard to all basses. However, on further reflection, perhaps it was that the majority of basses the luthier worked on had had a neck repair, which is a totally different subsample of the bass population (basses in need of repair as opposed to all basses).

Yeah, they all need neck repairs, are flimsy, and are cheaply made of plywood.
Let the others believe that & buy their "relics".
Meanwhile we buy better built guitars for less money.

The bad thing is the reputation of the company suffers.
