I recently picked up the remastered version of Fairport Convention's "Liege and Lief" (which recently went Gold after 37 years: http://www.fairportconvention.com/news960.htm) and their bassist, Ashley Hutchings, is playing a RM 1999 in many of the photos in the booklet. Yet another landmark recording featuring a Rickenbacker!

Shortly after FC released that album, Ashley left to form Steeleye Span. Here's a vid from youtube.com showing him and his bass:

I saw Steeleye Span in '72, opening for Procol Harum. Both were great bands.
