I'm new on the discussion board, but have been referencing info about Rickenbackers for a few weeks. A lot of knowledgeable folks here. I bought a '66 335 new in '70 and the frets need replacing.(Among other things) I have re-fretted a number of guitars and basses, starting with my own cheap guitars, gaining experience and the right tools over time. However I need a source for correct frets for this guitar. What width did Rickenbacker cut their fret slots back in '66? I heated and pulled one fret, cleaned the slot and measured the slot at .021. Is this correct? Stew-Mac handles frets, but has .023 tang widths which would compress the fret board too much. Anyone have a source for proper frets?
