What looks to my eyes like a 70's 4001 (pickup spacing, stripe down the headstock)
Ween, playing a cover of a great song:

I can't tell if that's 1/2" spacing, but it definitely looks like a 4001.
Pretty good performance. I'm not that taken by the guys vocals, but I'll give him a good grade for having the 'nads to try the tune.
Heck, the singer in my band won't even touch Zep, and we have a bassist and 2 guitarist that can rip the **** out in our sleep...

Nice rendition of a Led Zep tune. Yes, the 4001 is most probably late '70s.

Pretty good job, I thought. Plant is tough to copy.

We do that one in my band now. It's a great song and usually really shocks the audience that someone is attempting it.

Looks/sounds like a fun bassline!

It's fun to play. The bassline just kind of bounces around, like a McCartney tune in a subtle way. I am quickly becoming a Ween fan.

I might have to duck for cover here... I find ALL Zep covers weak at best. There was something very British about Zeplin at the time, in the way that Stepenwolf were very American. I wish I could put my finger on it, cant find the right words. I have not heard of Ween, but they sound quite American, nothing wrong with that, but maybe not for a Zep cover. Also the sound of his Rick is quite Fender P like, I would have thought a P would have done a better job. Ducks for cover....

Well Bob...I'd have to say that I respectfully disagree with your assessment on the bass. I think that his bass tone and his playing are fantastic. It sounds like a Rick to me, and in this case I think that a Rick is the best tool for the job.
