Well, "fest" might be an exaggeration, but two of we forumites (Johneek and wj350) got together this past weekend with our Rics and music books for some fun.

Image

L-R: Those are my two Lennonized 325c58s, an '03MG and '06JG, Johns Fireglo trio, a 36012c63, 1996 pre-NAMM, and 360/6, and my recent production 1996.

We've got some other photos comparing the two 1996s--John's is one of the two made in '05, mine is one of the current releases...

As usual, John showed me a few new things to play, and remained patient as I fumbled my way around the fretboard!

Nice photo Bill. In my opinion whenever two or more forumites get together you are entitled to use the term "fest". Image

Some nice Beatle guitars there! 14 toasters vs. two higains - that poor 360 is outnumbered!

"Some nice Beatle guitars there! 14 toasters vs. two higains - that poor 360 is outnumbered!"

Very true John, but that little 360 can hold its own I assure you! Besides, its a friendly rivalry...the toasters just pretend he's a Gretsch!

"...As usual, John showed me a few new things to play, and remained patient as I fumbled my way around the fretboard!"

No patience needed and no fumbling that I saw. As usual, I had a great time, and you were the best of hosts! We'll do it again soon!

Sounds like fun....of course it had to be, with so many nice-looking Rics all in one place! Image

Thanks for the nice words everyone--John and I have been doing this for a couple months now. I've also got a nice photo of the two 1996s--I'll post that up in the guitars section this evening--it's interesting to see the difference in Fireglo patterns.

Cheers, Bill

Mike, I'm down in Solomons/Pax River area for the moment (my wife's a Navy Nurse, so we're prone to relocating); John's actually down in Tidewater, VA.
I see you're over in Richmond--I get down there every once in a while--wife's family's from Petersburg.

Bill,

I grew up in Southern Maryland right across the river from Solomons. My parents (now retired) both worked at Pax River.

Bill and John's Greatest Adventures.

Very well done guys. It is these meetings, in addition to the larger Fests and Anniversary meetings, that continue to build strong Rickenbacker networks.

Thanks for sharing this meeting along with the great photo.

Thanks for the info, Bill.

I actually live in King William, about 45 minutes ENE of Richmond. I grew up in Va Beach, so I'm very familiar with that area, too.

Very nice collection you guys have there. You could probably use a bass or two, though. Image
