If I have a lot of money right now I would have a go. I don't get the action being higher than a 4001 bit. Any 4005 owner like to comment?

"The action is typical of a 4005 -- slightly higher than a 4001/4003"
That could be a nice way of saying the neck is a ski-slope and the action is mile high. But you don't want that ridiculously low action that 4001's are known for, right? Low action is for girly men.

I'd ask just how high is "slightly higher" and how much relief the neck has before placing a bid.

The action on my 4005 is as low as any of my 4001/3 basses.

Quattro.
Mine's a pleasure to play, perfectly low action.

Is that the 4005 formerly owned by Marc Seligman?
He sold his through Mike Parks.
And for the record...all of the 10 or so 4005's that I've played(all very nice ones) had similar action to a good 4001/4003.

My action is a tad high. It could use a rod adjustment, but I am so afraid of popping the board.

Dave,
There's something wrong with that photo. You're getting a double image of the strings!

I'd get rid of it then, Dave. I'll be right up.
