It's a 4003S, isn't it?

Who is this Kippialonsky guy? He has bids on this one and Ken's V63, and I see him all over the others.

Looks "S"'ey to me too. Did the early 4003S' have sterio?

The 'S' was a stripped down version of the 4003, and as such had no binding, no sharkfin fret markers and was Mono only.

kiappolonsky puts a bid on virtually every Rick related auction on ebay. He or she seems to be looking for reasonable deals, however. No crazy high bids.
Probably a lurker here, or an alter ego of a member.
Probably has a nice collection as well.

I hope it's my wife trying to get my birthday present!

Check out the lone bidder on Ken's V63 auction, the bidders on both the 1973 4001 in Toronto, the AZ 4001 in Montreal, etc.
kiappolonsky is in there every time.

Kiappolonsky was the high bidder on the 4003 i recently sold. He is a dealer from Italy.
i specifically noted that all int'l bidders had to get in touch, he didn't. when it came to shipping, he informed me where he was located and that would just give UPS his account #, fine. then he was asking me to forge customs documents - not fine. told him i wouldn't became rude and accused me of a bunch of irrational and insulting reasons for not selling to him. not someone i would want to deal with again.

So, does that mean my wife isn't getting me a Rick for my birthday?

Some very valuable info, Bryce.
Sounds like someone to avoid, then.

Actually the first 4003s's had Stereo outputs. I have a twin to the bass on ebay, split guard, Stereo, and very nicely ambered FireGlo.

I had an '82 Azureglo "S" that had stereo outputs also, and the split guard.
