Sealing a dent...

Well I just accidentally (pun intended) put a dent in my fairly new 4003MG. A small round area about 1/2 inch across. Can I use something to seal it and keep dirt and sweat out of the cracked finish? Polyurethane? I mainly don't want the dent to get dark colored with age and show up against the maple...
Thanks in advance!

I'm thinking that super glue would be good for this.

Best way to do that is drip some clear coat into the dent

I suggest cross-posting this in The Vibrola section where the luthiers-in-house will see it for sure.

I had a couple of those on my '74 4001MG and the clear finger nail polish worked well.
