I was always wondering why I get a strange response from other "blues" musicians I jam with when they start a 12 bar blues tune and I start in with "Close To The Edge". Can anybody figure this out?

Its nice to see someone has a sense of humor. When I play blues I usually pull out my 4001 with round wounds and crank up the treble with only the treble pickup on using a pick near the bridge. I can't figure out why I never get called back?

As long as we're discussing humor, hope you Rush fans can laugh at this one from a couple of years back:

I guess that's why you sing the blues when you're feeling solo.

"My favorite blues bass player, a man known for his understated playing, a master of the "laidback" feeling, played a bass like this. Of course, I'm talking about Chris Squire of the great Chicago style Blues band, Yes. No? That is the blues they are playing, right? I thought so. I have a Rickenbacker 4001 bass made in 1998. This bass is in excellent plus condition, shows only very slight wear. It has a black finish, rick-0-sound stereo jacks and two pickups. It really sounds great and it plays fantastic. Comes with original hard case. Shipping in the lower 48 states is $30. International shipping by Fed Ex is $150. Thanks for looking."
CS: Huh?????

It is such a bizarre post that nobody has even mentioned that it is a 1998 4001.

Then it must be the rare 4001 Blues Reissue. So rare it's never existed.
The bucket is where you store your mojo.

I hear that the great Chicago bluesman Chris Squire and the soft jazz bassist Geddy Lee are going to team up and do an album together with their RICs.

Yes and Lemmy, just back from doing an extensive tour with Yanny and Kenny G. is going to smooth it out even further with his new signature piccolo Ric bass.
