John, has the 4003FL be discontinued?

A few of us have spotted some disconcerting signs that the 4003FL may have been discontinued. No dot inlays, no more tapewound strings and no FL as an option, say it ain't so John!

I heard it's listed as a model, not an option. Maybe JH can shed some light on this?

I think the 4003 FL is still a standard model. No notice of discontinuation on RIC's Santa Ana, Japanese and Asian websites.
RIC.com
RIC-Asia.com
RIC-Japan.com
You can still see the 4003 FL as a standard model in Shinseido's (RIC importer/dealer in Japan) current CD booklet-like catalog.
*PS*-The 4003S/8 is discontinued but Shinseido still have some left and available in their inventory.

And how about a 4004 CII/8 eight-stringer with 8 individual saddles?

The 4003 FL is alive and well, ladies and gentlemen.

Scott Doseck-- I had Mark Arnquist convert my 4004C-I to a fretless. Man oh man, I LOVE it!! So your suggestion for the fretless option on the 4004C-II is a very good one. But I kinda got my doubts it will happen.
