Hard Rock Cafe Munich--Ric or Faker?

Last week my husband returned from a business trip to Munich, and while he was there he stopped by the Hard Rock Cafe, where he spotted this guitar on the wall, which had belonged to Roger Hodgson of Supertramp.... he took a few pictures, knowing I would be interested to see it; I'm still trying to decide whether or not it is real; with all the awful mods, it's kind of hard to tell!

Looks real enough. What makes you question it, Melissa?

It looks like a 60's Jetglo 360-12 with wood pickguards. Unfortunately you can't see the TRC very clearly in the photos, but it doesn't appear to be white - perhaps it's wood as well. Does Mark recall if the TRC was the standard Rickenbacker one?

Marc says it was wood, like the pickguard.... It was the absence of the original Rickenbacker TRC that made me immediately start wondering about the authenticity of the guitar.... also, in one of the shots I thought the upper horn looked a little too big, but that might have been due to the camera angle. I will agree that the fretboard and tailpiece look real enough!

It sure looks real to me. The CP inlays and the condition and look of the finish on the fingerboard says real to me. The nuts on the bridge and other details also indicate this is the real thing.

Looks genuine to me, too, Melissa. I don't recall seeing any Ricks at the St. Louis Hard Rock Cafe.... in fact I don't recall much at all - except the bottom of a glass!

Hehe.... then I guess there must not have been a Ric on the wall, LOL!
Marc was quite surprised to see this Ric in Munich, and knew it might generate some interest here!
Now that I look at the pictures after he processed them and turned them in the right direction, I'm pretty sure it's a real Ric, too.... It's just too bad the original TRC is missing, and I think that wooden pickguard looks awful....
