Just wondering. How good is it going to be? And what's going to be on the DVD, a tape of the show?

A lot of people will buy it for the 5.1 aspect I guess....some will buy it because it is a Beatles new release after all....some will buy it to see what George & Giles came up with.

I've only heard great things from those who have seen the show in Vegas. The DVD is just some EPK-style of the show itself isn't it?

I'll buy it. I like hearing familiar things recontextualized. And heck, why not complete the collection?

I am looking forward to The Beatles "Love" release with great interest. I'm sure there will be some cool new versions and remixes of the original recordings.
I'll admit I have been a fanatic Beatles (audio) collector since the beginning, and have been knocked out by some of the later remixed versions of the original catalog.
I think the Yellow Submarine DVD movie 5.1 audio gives a taste of what can be done with some restraint.
Also, the Yellow Submarine "Songtrack" CD was a wonderful surprise. Upon first listening to the "All You Need Is Love" remix, my eyes welled up with tears. I had heard all of the previous versions - but this was like I'd never really heard the track before. Absolutely beautiful.
Imagine hearing all of "Revolver" in 5.1 audio - just give a listen to "Here, There, and Everywhere" on the Anthology CD EP #2, and that's just stereo. I’m all for 5.1 remixes - fantastic!

That's it, then. What is not really needed is Love, but a remastering of the albums as they were, which is what people have been saying for years.

But I think it's clear Apple will instead crank out some sort of "new" release every five years forever, and it started with "1."

And we all line up to buy them...myself included.

The songs have been completely remixed and remastered by George Martin from the original tapes for use as music for the Cirque du Soleil performances in Las Vegas. The DVD is DVD-Audio 5.1 and PCM Stereo mixes of that music. It will also be released as a CD. No video content.

As for the original albums, EMI is well into the process of remastering and repackaging all of the albums for future release. So far, no date has been given. Not sure what formats will be included, as details have not been released.

And I will line up for those, too.

You know, it may be a cash grab, but I became a Beatles' fan in the spring of 1975 (I was 11...WOW, to be 11 again...)

I still love the feeling of going to the store and buying a "new" album by the Beatles. First one I got to do that with was "Hollywood Bowl", which is why I still have a soft spot for that release.

I recently heard the new version of 'while my guitar gently weeps' played on radio 2, a couple of day ago. It is the original acoustic demo with orchestral strings added. Sounded pretty good to me.

Did anyone else buy the CD "single" release that came with Real Love? It had "Yellow Submarine" remixed...and I think "Here, There and Everywhere".

I'm a big fan of remixes...no, not dance remixes, but tinkering with sound. When I was a kid, I used to turn the fade-out on Beatles' songs all the way up in volume so I could catch every last sound, hoping for some nugget or oddity.

Having said that, I also always want to have access to the original release.

Eventually, if not now (Pro Tools), you'll be able to mix the song as you hear fit.

Or not.

Mick, I'm, 43 and I still crank up the volume to hear what's at the end of the fade out.

Heard the 4 demos at TheBeatles.Com tonight. "Strawberry Fields", "Octopus' Garden", "Lady Madonna", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".

They were all very good. "Weeps" was the only one that didn't get a "mash-up" done with a bunch of other songs. I particularly liked "Strawberry Fields". I think they did a great job of taking pieces from several songs and making them sound like they belong together. And obviously they're using a lot of different takes from their sessions -- it's not just a mash of their released music.

I'm sure a lot of purists will hate it, but I think it's imaginative and in the spirit of The Lads' own inventiveness.
