350v63 vs 370

Sorry to be a pain here, but I was about to order my new 370vp but I was told by two different sources that Rickenbacker said it would take 8-10 months! I was expecting to hear 3-4 months; 8-10 is a bit too far away for my current needs (and excitement for my new Rickenbacker). I am considering the 350v63, which appears to be fairly close in price and features, and may be available somewhere now or sooner. I was wondering if anyone knew the differences in sound, playability and quality. Harmony Central does not have that much on it.... Thank you all very much.

Hey Oddball-
I have a 1967 370 (Mapleglo) that I'm considering selling. You can e-mail me at [email protected] if interested. Kal

I've owned a 350v63 for about 2 years now. I love it. I wouldn't give this guitar up for anything.

Check with PM Blues Guitars - last I looked they had a 370 VP, although the one I am thinking of may have been as 12-String. Also, I agree with Steve there, as I too have a 350V63 that I don't intend to part with.

Oddball: These are both great instruments, but very different instruments. The 370 is a bigger sized body while the 350V63 is more compact. Based on the acoustic differences between these instruments I consider that you will get a slightly brighter sound from the 370 than the 350V63. Why were you thinking 370 from the beginning? I will be interested to hear comments made with regard to tonal differences between these two instruments from others.
