"I never have been offered so much money for playing so few notes."
- John Entwistle when asked abouhaving to play Paul Mccartney's Basslines with Ringo Starr's all star band.
"The day I saw the Beatles perform in 1964 on Ed sullivan changed my life. All those girls going 'WAAAAH F&%$ ME! WAAAAAAAH!' and I was like: 'Whoa, that's not a bad job, I need to do something like that too.' "
- Gene Simmons in "Kiss exposed" talking about the influence the beatles had on him picking up a bass and start rocking out. God knows how many future rockstars got the same hint as he did that day.

Gene Simmons in 1964, his axe clearly shows off his music of choice.
Feel free to add more.

Those aren't that funny. Paul certainly has the last laugh with John Entwistle. At least Paul still has the opportunity to play "so few notes". I guess John is actually playing less notes now that I think of it.

Wow. He looks quite evil there. I think the makeup helped him.

Yeah, Gene Simmons looks scarier without make up.

Thanks Richard. Sometimes I get tired of the McCartney bashing. But that's just me.
What is Gene playing in that photo? I think Gene is scary period. He is one cool dude.

I'd much rather have McCartney's bass playing chops, taste and note selection than that other guy who just played lots of notes.
I agree, never did so few notes, sound so much better!!

Entwhistle was every bit an innovator and had as unique a voice on bass as PMC. There would have been no Who without the thundering lead bass sound of Entwhistle (just as there would have been no Beatles w/o Paul).
JE wasn't a one trick 'play a lot of notes' pony.

We're just responding to the stupid comment he made. Some of us tend to get defensive about the Macca-bashing here at the "BEATLES FORUM." Hmm .... I wonder why?

I hardly think that quote from Entwhistle rises to the level of bashing.
I kinda doubt McCartney himself would have taken an offense to that comment.

No bashing intended Tom, just some tongue-in-cheek fun.
