Let's show off our one of a kind, superdeluxe, custom built basses.

I'll start off with the fruit of working for eight years and counting with the Jan Knooren workshop.

My Custom Jan Knooren five string bass with aguilar electronics, custom Haussel pickup, body made of a sandwich of flamed maple top and Cherry wood back. The picture doesn't do it justice, it has a really great figured top.

My Five string and my self made "Ricky-rethink" bass and my HH amp.

This is my baby. The bass I always wanted to have.

This may not be super deluxe but Joe Zon did build this for me to my specs.

Here's the bass I built myself. It sounds wonderful with the heavy ash body and the Bartolini pickups.

Oh, and a little off-topic, but it's OK if I slip the guitar I made in as well, right?

Really cool, Sven. I like the vintage vibe. Nicely done.

Beautiful work guys! I build a few myself but not basses. Since Sven opened the door for guitars, (awesome piece by the way), here's one I scratch built a few years ago.

I made it from quartersawn mahogany and then book-matched the maple for the top. Lots of carving! I will never carve another maple top! Too much work!

btw, is it acceptable to scratch build Ric style basses but not guitars? I have no personal issue with this but have taken some heat over some of my other scratch built guitars.

Well, so far I haven't gotten a lawsuit coming from Rickenbacker over my Ricky-rethink bass. But I guess that they know that I have no intentions of making a series of those.

So I don't pose a thread.
