Gretsch Pricing?

Can anyone explain the discrepancy in Gretsch pricing? I'm looking at a Tennessee Rose, and find them for anywhere from $999.00 to $2299.00. There's one on ebay right now with a Buy it Now for $1379.00. Am I missing something? Is there some trick to buying a Gretsch?

Buy for price. They're all the "same", long as they're new and warranted.
Musician's friend has a huge overstock, going back two years now. Their buyers must have had a standing order from FMIC and due to lack of oversight, they got loaded up, so they're blowing them out. I bought one at $999.00, but there are blems out there now for $849.00 (probably gone by now).
No trick. And anyone in the USA who pays $2299 for one (only a couple hun' below MSRP) isn't doing their homework.

No cheap deals in England, a new 6122 Country Classic/Gentleman is only about £250-350 less than a vintage one!
I bought a '67 instead.

I just checked out MF. The Duo Jet is also now $999. This is REALLY tempting.
I'm waiting to see if they price the Country Classic that low, at which point I would have no choice but to buy!

Very tempting price on the Duo Jet! Unfortunately, (or maybe fortunately), they don't ship to Canada.

"Newly designed Bass Space Control bridge"...
Copywriters sure can make mountains out of molehills, can't they?
But it is sweet, sort of like Gretsch's take on the Hofner Club Bass, one of the nicest-proportioned hollowbody basses around.

$849 for a Gretsch! Hey Paul should I sell my Dearmond T-400 and get one!

The $849 is for blems; they are in short supply, and that supply is spotty. If you want to do this, check MF 2X per day and have the old credit card ready!

These Gretsch blow-outs are hard to resist. So far I've gotten a G6119-1962HT Tennessee Rose ($899) and a G6128T-1957 Duo Jet ($999). Then I bought a G5032 Rancher Dreadnought ($420), just to try a Gretsch acoustic. Now I've spotted a G6122-1962 Country Classic ($1400). I think I'll have to get it. It's a good time to buy Gretsch!

AND, if you check out Ebay, there are a lot of G6193 Country Clubs up right now in the $1400-$1600 range. This is the top of the standard (non-artist) line except for the Falcons, and they normally list for $3600+. These are super bargains.

I had a watch on for the $1124 one. Checked my computer and found out I missed it by seven minutes. Should've sniped it.
Anyway, there are a couple on BIN...

The Music Zoo still has a 6122-1962 available. They previously had them on sale for $1175. Talk to Mark or Tim and tell them I sent you. There is also a 6122-SP there, but its more money.
