HI there,

I own a Ric 1997 Rose Morris 1964 model. I bought in 1990 when I was 15 in near mint condition. It never came with the accent trem arm and want to try and trace one down, preferably an original. Also my bottom E tuner has given up and need to replace it or them. Are there any tuning heads you guys recommend, seems grovers are mostly used on Rics.

Thanks in advance ,

Rob

Rob, welcome to the Forum. It's sounds like you have a nice Rickenbacker there. Please post a photo or two of it so that we may all share in it's beauty!

Ac'cent vibrato arms are once again able to be ordered through Rickenbacker as a spare part (they were unavailable for some time), however these are the newer style. It seems that they changed a bit over the years.

An original '60s arm will be hard to find. It's often the first part which goes missing on a vintage instrument. I shelled out US$200 for one a couple of years back to complete my '65 Rose Morris 1998. They come up now and then on eBay.

As far as tuners are concerned, I would strongly recommend you retain the original tuners and look at replacing just the non-functioning E tuner. Individual tuners appear on eBay all the time and complete sets come up often as well.

Good luck!

I've just checked the Rickenbacker website and it appears that the Ac'cent arm is temporarily unavailable again:-

You might try Pick of the Ricks in NJ - Chris Clayton had stock on hand when they were unavailable a couple of years ago.
