Jeff Jerdon has sent along this nice photo of George Harrison performing
"If I Needed Someone" at Crosley Field August 21,1966 in Cincinnati.
Have a look at that capo!

Peter, this was taken by Fred Straub who was the photographer for the Cincinnati Enquirer/Post at the time. I have about a dozen more of his photos from the Crosley Field show. They are in my opinion the definitive photographic document of The Beatles in Cincinnati. The other photog who was there was Gordon Baer. You can see Gordo's work in Andy Babiuk's "Beatles Gear" book. I've met Gordon and he's a great guy with lots of stories about his Beatles experience in '66. Gordon was selling prints of his photos some time ago. He probably still is.

Let's hope George kept the guitar and lost the glasses.

That's right where I capo it to play it. I wonder how much George would have enjoyed one of those Dunlop capos, the ones with the trigger grip? I remember having an elastic capo in the '60's and they were awkward to use.

The guitar's whereabouts is still one of the great unsolved mysteries of The Beatles' lost or stolen equipment.....Some say it ended up in the hands of one of the Bee Gees in 1967, and from there who knows.....

It is worth another look then Lefty.

Maybe Nick has heard something and he's saving it for the Beatlesgear website; This Rickenbacker 360/12 along with George's Tennesseean, Paul's first Hofner 500/1 and Lennon's Hofner Club 40 are all M.I.A. at present, out there somewhere, and the people who have them may not know (in some cases) what they possess.

All that George has said about this one is that it is the one that "....went missing..."

It is fortunate for us John, that this equipment has gone missing. With a little luck, it will give us something to talk and write about for the next few decades. "When I'm 64..."

Ironically enough it was a film clip of George doing IINS on this guitar at the Tokyo Budokan afternoon show of 01/07/66 that got me into Rickenbackers at the tender age of 10....all I ever wanted was a 360/12 - took me a good 9 years to get one though!!
