"Current" Rickenbacker artists?

Hello all!
I was curious about if anyone here knows any "current" relatively well-known musicians who play Rickenbackers...particularly bassists.
With "current" music tending to tune down, the proliferation of 5 and 6 string basses seems to leave Rickenbackers out in the cold, despite Rickenbacker having the 4003S/5 and now the new 4004/5s.
I was hoping there may be some newer artists out there playing Rickenbacker basses and giving them some exposure!
Regards,
Bill Kargel

Bill, I've said it before but you're new here: there is no proliferation of 5 and 6 string basses. My reliable industry source says the sales share is about 25% and is steady at that.
Rickenbacker sells everything it can produce and has a waiting list; the 4003 is one of the two top-selling models. Rickenbacker is in no danger of being left out in the cold.
What's "current" music anyway? Would you consider Carrie from Sleater-Kinney a "current" artist? They've actually been at it for years. Anyone currently using a Rickenbacker and currently playing is a "current" musician, no matter how old.
Also, don't underestimate the power and influence of older music. I read an article late last year about the profitability of reissues. It mentioned, among others, that Journey's Greatest Hits still averages over 11,000 CDs sold per week (that stuck in my mind because I can't stand Journey). How many current artists top that?

As far as current rick bass players goes.. . . hrrm.
The guy from the Strokes plays one for sure
I saw some nu-metal band on FUSE (the new MTV clone) playing a 4003 recently.
I think Ms. Brownstein uses an SG a lot, in addition to her Rick 330. Hard to tell from the albums though.

There's Les Claypool, he's got a 4001 or 4003 JetGlo. Because his hero Geddy Lee had one, he has used it off and on. There is a picture of him on stage not too long ago playing it.
On the subject of 5-string vs. 4-string, Godsmack's bass player uses only 4-strings, he just detunes and sets up one for several keys, Tim Comerford of RATM, and Audioslave does the same thing. I have 6-strings, 5-strings and 4-strings, but I keep comming back to the 4-string basses.
When I go to a jam session, audition, or possible studio work the 4's go with me first.
