Spotted Peter Buck playing what appeared to be a 360/12 JG on Conan O'Brien last night. He was backing up Robyn Hitchcock as he performed a song called 'Adventure Rocketship' from his latest CD. Buck often contributes Rick 12-string to Hitchcock's recordings.

I caught that as well. It's kinda cool that Buck can show up like that with a play with a fair amount of anonimity.

Steve: I've told this story before. I saw REM in '88 or '89 with Robyn Hitchcock opening. The show was at Reunion Arena in Dallas. The crowd wasn't paying attention to the opener. Halfway through his set, Hitchcock introduced his "Cousin Nigel" who walked out on stage with a Rick 360/12. Of course it was Peter Buck, but the crowd didn't know who he was. This was Hitchcock's 'Queen Elvis' tour and I believe REM were playing 'Green' material.

Interesting stuff...

When Peter first started with REM, there were some who questioned his ability on the guitar...Instead of getting offended, Peter worked his butt off playing on stage with every band in sight...and of course with REM who wouldn't have traded him for any guitarist in the world.

He's as good as it gets if you ask me...his style is true and original. Always has been.

Still waiting for the Peter Buck signature model.

Will there ever be another signature model?

Maybe not - JH has said he's not really interested in the signature program anymore.

Peter Buck (IIRC) said once if you want a PB sig model, just get a jetglo 360 and put a girlie sticker on it.
