The coloration on the Fireglo finish can vary widely - apparently depending on the spraybooth operator's personal preference. I've got two with what could be described as "iced-teaglo". As I understand it, with the advent of the C-series, an attempt is being made at standardizing the Fireglo to mimic George Harrison's finish.

I have a similar question: how much does the modern Rick "conversion varnish" yellow with time? I have a Sep 1995 330FG, and I'm wondering if it will eventually get that nice yellowed patina that you see on vintage Ricks. I headed down the street to the local Rick dealer and took a look and a brand new 330FG -- without putting it next to mine, it looked to be marginally less yellow/more pink than mine, but it could just be my imagination.

How much more yellow could it get? None more yellow?

Ryan,, i own a white 4003 from 1991. It has not turned "canary yellow" like most of the real old white ricks, but its developed a kind of greenish cast that makes the white slightly green/yellow in dull light. also the triangle markers on the fretboard are not as vibrant as new ricks, so i think the fretboard coating yellows also.

Gary Clauson-- I know this post is off-topic for this thread, but I'm curious to know if you're aware of any 4003s models out there in white with all white trim. Nice all-white 4003 you have there, by the way..............

Jeff, I don't think I remember seeing any 4003S WHT/WT models presently posted for sale anywhere; I might have seen one a while back on eBay, but that one might have been an MG/WT, just can't remember. I'll keep my eyes open for one. I do love the 4003 WHT/WT with the white binding - very sweet guitar!

Gary-- I'm not actually in the market for a 4003sWHT/WT. Was just curious to know if you had ever seen one.

Jeff, I didn't infer that, it's just that if I were to see one, most likely it would be on one of the 'for sale' sites I check out periodically. Sorry for the confusion.

The more I think about the one I saw on eBay, the more I think it was Mapleglo, not White. So I'd have to say that I don't remember seeing a 4003S WHT/WT anywhere.

My '67 330 has the best damn fireglo ever. Quite yellowed. Pics soon.

I personally am not a fan of the Harrison FG with the bigggg red section on the butt end. Bluhh.

Miguel,

Something else that varies widely on Ebay is the picture quality. Many guitars with "aged finish" looks on Ebay can be (and have been - I speak from personal bad experience) the result of poor lighting conditions and/or inferior camera equipment.
