Hello everyone. I've been on the Rickenbacker company forum since early this year, and today I've officially started on this forum. It looks to be a good one. This is post #3.
I noticed a few weeks ago that Borders books had "The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions - The Official Record of the Abbey Road Years 1962 - 1970," by Mark Lewisohn in the bargain area for only U.S. $5.99, so I bought one. It is a heavy, high quality oversized paperback. I'd not seen most of the photos before. Many of the later ones were taken by Linda McCartney.
I doubt this would be an internet price, but if you have a Borders Books nearby it might be worth checking out.

Yeah I picked that up too. This book has been around for many years and I finally got around to purchasing it, how could you not for $6.

Hi David. I recently ordered this through Amazon--I saw it footnoted frequently throughout "Revolution in the Head". Looking forward to getting it...

It is a classic, I totally agree. Much better, IMO -- and much more affordable -- than the new $ 100 book out there.

Both of Lewisohn's books are classics, The Complete Beatles Chronicles, and The Beatles Recording Sessions. And much to the consternation of some, Recording the Beatles, is a very good book.

Read 'em both. And I agree. I was impressed with the Chronicles. It is a workout just to follow the fabs early gigs. I had no idea they gigged that much, had no idea that anyone could. No wonder they were so good.

The Complete Beatles Chronicles is actually a condensed version of The Beatles Recording Sessions and an earlier book by Lewisohn, detailing all their live appearances. I've forgotten the name of the first book, and it's been out of print for years.

Mark Lewisohn may not be the 5th Beatle, or even the 6th, but he's high up on the list somewhere.
