Quick Introduction

Hello everyone, I hope I placed this into the correct sub-forum. I just bought a Rickenbacker 330 and thought this would be great place to get some more information on them, and just wanted to say hello and introduce myself before I start posting away.

I played bass in high school, took a hiatus from music and found my way back about four years ago. I've played mostly teles and strats, and found myself with two strats recently, which makes no sense, so I sold one and bought the Rick which should be here within a week.

I've loved the look and sound or Rickenbackers for at least 25 years, so this purchase was long overdue.

I mostly play blues, so it'll be interesting to hear from any of you who also use a Rickenbacker for blues.

Anyhow, I look forward to learning lots on this site.

Hi Christopher..... you've come to the right place. There are a number of members who play blues with their Ricks, so you shouldn't be short of input.

Enjoy your 330 when it arrives. What color did you go for?

Hi Christopher,

Welcome to the forum. I am one of the musicians that "Aitch" mentioned.

Here's the instruments that I use when I play blues on a Rickenbacker. They are very versatile. My 360V64 has been modified so it can be made to sound like a Strat or a Les Paul. My 350 has a great blues vibe going for it. It sounds like a cross between a Strat and a Les Paul. My 4003 bass is the most versatile bass that I own.

I will be interested to see how you like your 330. I have never played one.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I will definitely post pictures when it gets here - guitar-porn should be mandatory when you buy a new guitar.

Its a fireglow, which has always been my favorite colour.

Let us know when you get a Ric 12 string, that qualifies you for membership in the 8 mile high club.

I've never seen that picture of SRV before - I'd love to see some footage of him playing a Rick.
