Loose Horseshoes

Here is a question for the guitar techs out there. Both horseshoes on my 90 CS bridge pick up seem to be a little loose. The screws on the top and bottom of the pickup are the hight adjustment, so this is not what I am looking for. How do I tighten these things without causing any damage to the bass?

You have to remove the pickup first by removing the four small screws that hold the pickup surround to the body. Once that is done carefully lift the whole pickup assembly away from the body and turn it over. You will see four fairly large screws, two each on either side of the centerline, on the underside of the mounting plate that secure both the shoes and the bobbin to it. Make sure these are all snugged up and you will be good to go. Reverse the procedure for remounting the pickup to the body.
