Is this a faker?

It is not for sale but it is used as a backdrop for some genuine TRCs. The guitar appears to be a faker. The inlays don't look right. Anyone else have an opinion?

I think it looks legit. I would love to get the black one for my 360jg.

The inlays and the neck joint are a bit suspect to me.

Comparing it to another maple glow one ebay it does look fake. The trc's look so good that I dont care. I really want the black one.

The neck does not have the tell tale difference where it goes through the body.

There are a lot of little differences that are not characteristic of Rickenbacker construction. Note the three piece neck and the low placement of the strap button.

Image

The inlays look like abalone and notice there is no fingerboard showing below the neck binding. That has been a Rickenbacker trait since the early 60's.

Once again, the inlays and binding are weird. You can also see a bit under the TRC. That does not look like a Rickenbacker truss route.

Both those TRCs are either very recent (does the lettering on a recent TRC differ in any slight way from say that on a '90s or '80s one?) or fake. Anyone?

What is your opinion of the guitar Serg? You are suspicious of the TRCs?

Hey Ted. Well, about the guitar proper, I'd like to take a closer look at the truss rod nut pocket. It sure looks too short and small for two truss rod nuts to fit in there. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't know.
As for the TRCs, until someone proves me wrong I'll maintain both are counterfeit. See if you can spot one dead giveaway.

What's the dead giveaway with the TRCs?

Well, like I said, unless the lettering on the current TRCs is somewhat different, take a good look at where the individual letters join the underline. Pull out your Ricks and look at the TRCs on them. What do you notice? The lowermost portion of the individual letters gets noticeably wider where it joins the underline, right? Or am I seeing things?

Plus, notice how "thin" the lettering on the white nameplate looks, not to mention subtle differences in the shape of the individual letters. H**l, I say those TRCs are fake, pure and simple!

Did you happen to check out his other auctions? I dont think the 360 he is selling is a fake.
