When are the colors of the year announced? I didn't know about the blueburst until it was too late to order one. I love that finish. Another thing, do you order that through Rickenbacker or do only certain dealers carry them? I don't have a local dealer available and I have never seen those finishes in catalogs like Musician's Friend, AMS, etc. Thanks for the info!

Colors of the year are announced right around NAMM time; you'll see posts here or on RIC's corporate website when it happens.
You order these through your Rick dealer; online retailers carry them rarely. For a Rick dealer, check the RIC corporate website. There's a dealer/distributor locator link on the homepage.

North Coast Music and Mike Parks' sites are where I've gone to get stuff in the past. They're both very good and can tell you if they still have anything. Musiczoo is another I've heard of. I'm sure there are still some blueburst 4003's out there available. They are starting to wind down though, so now would be the time to look. Also, pay attention to the for sale section here. I just got a 350V63 blueburst from Gerald and I'd thought I'd missed out on one because they were all sold already online. It pays to be patient and keep your eyes/ears open!

The NAMM show will run from January 18 to 21. The color of the year is usually posted on the RIC website just before the show starts. We're not even sure if there will be a color of the year for 2007.

Based on posts here and on the RIC website it sounds like there won't be a 2007 COY so that RIC can address their production backlog.
