My first gig in 40 years!

Tomorrow is crunch day! I've been invited to sit in with a band at a street party tomorrow night and can't wait!! I've seen the band play a number of times and know their capabilities, which are better than mine! LOL!! Image They have 2 guitarists, bass, drums, keyboards, sax and flute and there will be some other 'guests' sitting in as well.

I'll only be doing 5 or 6 numbers (4 of them Aussie hits) and have been practicing my a** off for 10 days now, so I should be OK.

I'll be playing my 350v63 and 620TQ through my AC30CC1 and Korg pedal and will be cordless. I have lined up somebody to take pics, so they will be posted here on Sunday (Oz time).

Now the nerves start to set in........ ImageImage

Have fun Aitch! Just remember, hug all the women after the gig.

Shocking to say for me, but "Suspicious Minds" is one of the most fun songs to perform. First, get all the women in the audience to participate ("woo-oo-oo-oo-oo and "suspicious minds") and then drag it out as long as you have the guts to keep going "don'chunoi'm caught in a trap..."

I do that one with a friend (and with a band with him) and it always just slays 'em. It really pays to ham it up.

The lead singer will be doing all that, Mark. He's reminded me more than once to stay in my place and show respect! Image

That happened at the same gig last year... all the kids and women got up and took over the other mics. Same with AccaDacca's Long Way To The Top!!

Hey, Jeff! Thanks and congrats on the new opportunity, BTW. I saw the thread but my mind was in neutral. I bet you're looking forward to everything that's in store in your new location. Go for it! Image

I'll be starting quietly, J Gary. Got to fit in first before trying to take over!
