I was sort-of watching Monster Garage on Discovery Channel last night and saw briefly an all-woman band called The Fabulous Tuscaderos; what caught my eye was the bass player's Rickenbacker bass! I looked up their website and on their photo page there:

sure enough, in one of the pictures you can see the bass player holding a 4001/4003 FG! I have borrowed that picture to post here:

There's a picture of the Fonz on their web page.

Since you mention the Fonz and Leather, I remember Suzi Quatro as Leather Tuscadero in a couple of 'Happy Days' episodes, where she fronted a band called The Suedes. Too bad she wasn't playing an early 4000 bass (if I remember correctly, 'Happy Days' was set in the late 50s).

I remember that, I think she had an EB-2.

Bob, I think it was a Hagstrom semihollow, the one shaped like a Guild Starfire but with a Fender-style headstock.

Mmmmm...Suzi Quatro. Image

My favorite Suzi Quatro song is "What A Way To Die," a heartfelt ode about preferring beer to a boyfriend by her all-girl 60's garage band, The Pleasure Seekers. Great tune!

I took the booklet out of my Suzi compilation CD, there is a pic of her with an EB-2 but it's a stage shot of her playing with (ex-husband) Len Tuckey, not from Happy Days. There's also a shot of her from Happy Days with the Hagstrom-type bass.

is there a ric bass in that photo? All I see is some cleavage action in the lower left.

I probably saw that one of her with her husband, I just thought I had remembered her with one.
A friend of mine had a Trini Lopez ES-335, looked like a regular ES-335 except the headstock looked like a Fender, when we saw him coming with it we'd say: Hey, where'd you get that Fender Gibson?
His wife got p@ssed at him and broke it! He was not too happy.
