Anyone have any experience with Hipshot's replacement bridge or their tuners?

BTW...this Forum is soooo much fun that I may have to quit my job and just hang here ALL day. Anyone bringing in bagels??

I've seen it a few times ... I prefer the 4-2-5 approach ...

Nice to see im not the only one who spells bassically with 2 s's.

I wouldn't put on one mine, simply because i dont think id ever drop tune it. I have thought about it for other basses but never done it.

I know I've seen a pic or 2 of a bass with a Hipshot, but I can't remember for the life of me whose it was... Image

I had the Hipshot bridge one of my 4003's. It adds a bit of sustain and midrange. It also looks very clean aesthetically. I recommend it.

I use the D tuner on my V63.
Works great.

The bridge is a nice piece. I have the one Ron sold me & it's very well designed & could fool a non-Rick addict into thinking it's a stock piece.
Adjusts every which way you'd ever want, and no drilling is required.
It's a heavy bugger, though.

Bob - I think the pic you refer to are of Jeff Scott's fretless, also shown on the Pickguardian website.

That was just a little jab in Jeff's ribcage...I'm surprised he hasn't gotten me on it yet! Image

Now in the loving hands of Alex Heist. Great bridge with plenty of adjustability. The Ultralite tuners are also well worth putting on if you have need for replacing the stock tuners. Supposedly Hipshot has replacements for the stock RIC tuners but I have no experience with those. If they are anything like the ones I put on the Fender AV '62 Jazz Bass I used to have, they are very nice with adjustable tension.

I have Ultralites on both my '67 4005WB and '73 4001.

I've got D-tuners on two of my 4001's. I woulnd't want to play without them. Unless I'm playing my 5er.
