I'm going to purchase a new 4003. I've been surfing around and trying to find the lowest cost. So far $950 is the cheapest. Does anyone out there know of any on-line resellers that will sell for cheaper than $950?

That's pretty much as low as you'll find it anywhere. I'm not aware of anyone local or online selling for less.

$950 is as low as you can go. The cheapest for a new one near me is $969.99 plus tax.

Rick-- PickoftheRicks has a 2003 4003MG currently for sale. It may not be *brand new* in the technical sense of the phrase but it's probably right next to it. You'll have to e-mail or call to get his price though. I have no idea if his price would be competitive as opposed to a new one.

I just bought a new 4003FG w/case & shipping from
American Musical for $999.00
Does the $950 include case & shipping? If so, I might return mine....

Thus far, all my Rickenbackers have been used and I am very pleased with them. I don't mind a dent here and there as sooner or later I will do it myself.

I've had a bunch of them mostly used, but there is nothing like buying a brand new Ric. They are beautiful in every sense of the word, look great, play great, and smell great. And they get worn in the way YOU play. But then again I love any Ric, used or new.

I only have one Ric, a 4001, and it's used but in surprisingly great condition (though I do think the truss rod needs adjusting). It'd be nice to get another one, but I'd rather have a couple different kinds of basses first and focus on putting together a rig. Maybe one day...
