Does this date to around 1990?

Better still is the one that came out of the factory in the late 80's when RIC cleaned house of the NOS from the 60's.

I think John Williams has one...Image

I believe that I own some Rickenbackers from that era. I'll have to check of course to be sure. Interesting information!

More amazing is the comparison with present day Rick prices vis a vis housing, gas, car prices...

According to an inflation data web site, $2600.00 from 1989 is now worth $4300.00 in today's money (66.39%).

http://inflationdata.com

$4300.00 has been the going rate for the 4080's lately.
So if you purchased a 4080 new in 1989, not that great of an investment I say.

Sorry. I should have been clearer. I'm talking about NEW Rick prices, as represented by the pricelist above.

I guess they are "list" prices?

Therefor they are 30%+- more than what you would of paid for them.

Dave, i'd guess that this is MSRP, the "street" prices would be less.

I guess $3362 in 2005 dollars wasn't too bad then.

I also keep forgetting that one just sold on the bay for $8K.

I never realised that 4080s were available to order as late as '89.

That $8k was an anomaly!
