Lefty basses stolen

The slime busted through my back door when I wasn't home. This happened on 12/7. I already have an e-bay search set up. Any other ideas as to where to keep a lookout. The Rick is in a national database since I had the serial#. Theoretically, if it shows up in a pawn shop, I will get it back. Can I register it stolen with Rickenbacker-do they have such a service? Description of basses (all lefty):

Rickenbacker bass left handed model 4001 natural woodgrain (mapleglow) and white binding (yellowed from age). Black pickguard and nameplate which they didn’t come with-I special ordered the guard and nameplate after initial purchase. Volume and tone knobs (4) are missing. Small 1/8" dent at back edge of longer “horn” although the bass is very clean cosmetically. Has a bone colored nut (original issue was black) with thin blue plastic shims under each string. Serial year/date code is “TE” serial # is 1708.

Ibanez Soundgear model SR800RB Black, left- handed. Saddles near bridge are offset a little in order to align strings symmetrically over the neck if I recall correctly on this feature. Back is basically clean with one noticeable scratch.<br> Feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]

Fender Jazz bass (I believe Japanese model) sunburst and has long subtle crack in finish on front of body. Pickguard is missing-you can see the screw holes for it.

Sorry to hear about that Abbott. First, I would post this info on the Rick corporate forum as well (if you haven't already).

I came very close to having my '82 4001S stolen in the mid-90's, but they didn't hit the lower level in the bi-level house I was renting. They only hit the living room and bedrooms in the usual spots. I was very lucky. They also missed my mid-60's Hagstrom, stereo system, computer, etc. The basses were in the cases in the a back room in the lower level.

I've heard of ex-owners trolling local pawn shops, as sometimes those systems don't work. I think a trombone player got a horn back by hitting the pawn shops in his area.

Don't forget about checking Craig's List as well.

I've had the same thing happen to me, so I know how a home break-in feels. I had dreams about it for a long time. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Good luck!
